this will be short as i want to go to bed. :) but, for those who haven't heard, we had the baby on thursday, the 21st. getting him here went fine and I feel pretty darn good. but, since he- Aaron, was 5 weeks early he's in the NICU. he weighed 6 lbs 9 oz, and is 19 inches. So not too tiny, but getting him home is a SLOW going process. I don't expect it to be for a few more days.
Sportin' his hot wheels back pack...he really wanted one that had wheels and the handle so he could pull it around. Not sure where or when he ever saw one of those, but, the only ones we could find were small, like for a three year old to pull around. :(
Can't leave out Evelyn...
Waiting at the bus stop with some awesome friends! We were all so glad/relieved when we found out that Aige got into the school (for those not in the Boise area, it's a magnet school (I hear one of the best in the area), with a lottery system to get accepted. We first thought Aige didn't get a spot-tonz of people apply to get in- then in May the school called and said they had a spot for him! We were beyond excited since all our other friends who'd applied got in, and then a couple weeks ago we found out the kids were all in the same class!! Whooo-hooo! hope they don't cause too much trouble. :)
While Aige was at school Evelyn and I made some chocolate chip cookies, well, A chocolate chip cookie (you'll see). This funny little girl, though, doesn't like to eat the cookies. She loves the dough, but not with the chips in it (at least she'll eat the chips by themselves). At least she's loves the dough, so we set a little chipless dough aside just for her, my "special helper", who was a little sad when she watched Aige and all the kids run to the bus.
I'd seen on How Does She? this idea for the first day of school to make a big cookie. I thought it looked like a fun thing to do. I was surprised at Aige's reaction to it. He LOVED it, I guess why not? But it was obvious that it made him feel very special. He's showing a picture he made at school, too bad ya can't see it.
So while he had a slice of his massive cookie, I asked him all sorts of questions about how his first day went. His thoughts on riding the bus ride (best part, right!), to recess, his teacher, friends in class, everything I could think of. Then as he answered I wrote it all down. But, I'm really glad I asked so specifically because I think it helped him to remember more than just how fun it was to ride the bus. Seriously, a great day. He loved school, I loved him being there, and even though Evelyn was a little sad, the two of them need a break from each other...I need them to have a break from each other :)
That's right. I've just not been in the mood to update this ol' blog. But with good reason, as I've not been feeling so great for over two months now. Yeah, that's right. We're pregnant. Sorry, no exclamation point at the end of that sentence. Not that I'm not excited for a baby. But that I really really hate being pregnant. I've completely forgotten what it feels like to not be sick all day, everyday. In fact, a month ago I had to go up to the hospital to get an IV and get some fluids back into me. And, does anyone else find it somewhat annoying when everyone you talk to (regardless of how well they know you) gives you some "advice" for morning sickness? I usually listen politely while thinking something like how I'd like them to shut up. (lets blame my moodiness on those prego hormones, ok? :) ) It was so fun to tell Aige and Evelyn! Aige is always asking how big the baby is. The other day Evelyn gave my stomach a kiss and said, "Mommy, I really love the baby in your belly". So, we are 15 weeks along, due Nov. 21. And if this babe comes early like the other two, it could share a birthday with Lane and Renae. And yes, upon realizing that, we made sure there is only one baby, not two.
And then he walked around with this thing on for a while... And what a year it has been! So to answer what most people ask ... He's doing pretty good. He doesn't seem to be in much pain anymore, or maybe I should say, he tolerates pain pretty well when he has it. He's back to doing things like before (and has for quite a while). And yes, he will have rods and screws in his back for the rest of his life. I'm sure he completely expects to be out water skiing this summer. In fact, as I was going through pictures, I found this; last summer he layed some new flooring in our kitchen (which, just happened to be free!) 
And then, I decided (in order to save myself some taping) that I'd paint the walls before he put up the baseboards...
When I first started puting the paint on I began to freak out thinking how dark it was. If you can picture a milk chocolate bar all warm and melted...that's my color. But once I got it on the entire wall I really like it...now just to get some decor on - well, more than what I currently have on it.
Got rid of that stove for a new (well, new a year ago) black glass top one. And, the microwave Lane had just installed on Valentine's Day. Yeah, over a year ago Valentine's Day, the day we began "remodeling" the kitchen. I had just been pulling down the cabinet doors to clean and prime when Lane broke his back. =( I couldn't find any other pics of it's current state besides the ones of me painting (sorry, not going to go take any right now...I'd have to finish cleaning my kitchen! ;) ) We still have one cabinet to paint/build and I'm pretty sure Lane threw away the paint. Still working on what to do about that. And of course, a couple other minor things to do in there as well. But, at least it looks a heck of a lot better than it did before!
